South-South and Triangular Cooperation: Towards Sustainable Human Development in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States

In the Europe and the CIS region, the concept of South-South cooperation may be relatively new but the experience of horizontal, peer-to-peer sharing of knowledge is not, with a significant tradition and, more recently, a renewed vibrancy. This report is not meant to provide full and comprehensive analytical research on the status of South-South cooperation in the region but rather to showcase a number of practical examples and useful lessons learned that can be taken on board by policymakers and other national and local development practitioners.

There are several interesting findings, for example those on the models of South-South cooperation, which can stimulate thinking, discussion and action and help to make South-South cooperation a more deliberate and strategic tool for achieving development results.
